Consultation Overview

What happens at a rhinoplasty consultation?

A rhinoplasty consultation at 8 West Clinic is a 60–90 minute in-person appointment with Dr. Buonassisi. It is not a sales meeting — it is a clinical assessment. He will examine your nasal anatomy, take standardised photographs, discuss your goals in detail, and present computer imaging of a potential result.

Before your consultation, we ask that you complete the pre-assessment. This takes five minutes and allows Dr. Buonassisi's team to review your goals in advance — so the consultation itself is focused and productive, not spent on introductory paperwork.

Consultations are conducted in-person only. A proper assessment of nasal anatomy and facial proportions requires a physical examination — it cannot be done accurately over video. Out-of-town patients are welcome; many of Dr. Buonassisi's patients travel from across Canada and internationally. If you are travelling from outside Vancouver, see the travel guide for logistics.

Following your consultation, you will receive a written surgical plan outlining the recommended technique, expected outcomes, recovery timeline, and a detailed cost breakdown. You are under no obligation to proceed — many patients take weeks or months to make a decision, and our team is available to answer questions throughout that process.

Computer Imaging

Seeing the direction
before the decision.

During your consultation, Dr. Buonassisi will use computer imaging to illustrate the direction of change he is aiming for. This is a simulation tool — not a guarantee of results — but it is one of the most useful parts of the consultation process.

Computer imaging helps ensure that you and Dr. Buonassisi are aligned on goals before any surgical plan is made. It allows him to show you what is anatomically achievable, and to have an honest conversation about what surgery can and cannot do for your specific case.

The actual result will depend on your anatomy, skin thickness, healing, and the specific manoeuvres performed. Computer imaging shows direction — not a guaranteed outcome.
