The 8 West consultation process

The rhinoplasty consultation at 8 West is designed to be thorough, unhurried, and genuinely informative. Dr. Buonassisi spends 60–90 minutes with each patient — assessing anatomy, discussing goals, reviewing computer imaging, and answering questions. There is no sales pressure and no obligation to proceed.

Before your consultation: the pre-assessment

The recommended first step is the 8 West pre-assessment — a short online questionnaire about your goals, anatomy, and health history. This is reviewed by our Patient Care Manager before your consultation, allowing Dr. Buonassisi to come prepared with a preliminary understanding of your case. The pre-assessment is free and takes approximately 5–10 minutes.

What happens during the consultation

The consultation follows a consistent structure:

• Anatomical assessment: Dr. Buonassisi examines your nasal structure, skin quality, and facial proportions. He assesses both the external appearance and internal function (breathing).
• Goal discussion: You discuss what you would like to change and what you want to preserve. Dr. Buonassisi is direct about what is realistically achievable for your anatomy.
• Computer imaging: Using imaging software, Dr. Buonassisi creates a simulation of potential results. This is a communication tool — not a guarantee — but it ensures you and the surgeon are aligned on the goal.
• Technique recommendation: Dr. Buonassisi explains which technique(s) he recommends for your case and why.
• Q&A: Time is reserved for your questions. No question is too basic.

After the consultation

Following the consultation, you will receive a written summary of Dr. Buonassisi's assessment and a detailed fee quote. Most patients take time to consider before deciding to proceed — this is encouraged. Your Patient Care Manager remains available to answer follow-up questions.
