Why Patients Travel
Dr. Buonassisi is board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and has performed over 2,500 rhinoplasty procedures — placing him among the highest-volume rhinoplasty specialists in Canada. Patients travel from Calgary, Toronto, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and internationally specifically for his expertise in preservation rhinoplasty and piezo ultrasonic techniques.
Vancouver's mild climate, flat walkable neighbourhoods, and world-class restaurants make it one of the best cities in North America to recover from surgery. The clinic is located in Kitsilano, steps from the Seawall and South Granville — both ideal for the gentle daily walks that support healing. The North Shore mountains are visible from almost everywhere, and Stanley Park is a 10-minute drive.
Your initial consultation can be conducted entirely by video call. Dr. Buonassisi's team reviews your pre-assessment photos and goals remotely, prepares a personalised surgical plan, and provides a detailed quote — all before you book a flight. Most out-of-province patients arrive in Vancouver for the first time on the day before their surgery.
Post-operative care does not end when you fly home. Our patient care team conducts follow-up appointments virtually, monitors your recovery with photo submissions, and is available by phone and email throughout your healing journey. The only in-person visit required after surgery is the cast removal at day 7.
Your Journey
The typical out-of-province rhinoplasty journey takes 10–12 days in Vancouver. Here is what to expect at each stage — from your first virtual consultation to flying home after cast removal.
